The position is responsible for planning, coordinating, and implementing professional development and instructional programs that support the education of migrant students (PK–12) across Region V, with an emphasis on elementary education. The role includes providing technical assistance to districts, ensuring compliance with Migrant Education policies, and supporting various regional programs such as Saturday Academies and Summer School.
Key duties include coordinating parent and student leadership activities, overseeing Identification and Recruitment efforts, managing budgets and resources, and supervising program staff. The position also involves representing the Kern County Superintendent of Schools (KCSOS) and Migrant Education Region V in professional meetings, writing and reviewing District Service Agreements and the Regional Application, and assisting local educational agencies with state and federal program requirements.

Requirements / Qualifications
Education:
1. Must hold appropriate Supervision or Administrative credential.
2. Must hold a Master's degree earned at an accredited college or university.
3. Must hold California teaching credential(s) or Pupil Personnel Services credential.
Experience:
1. Minimum of three (3) years of increasingly responsible leadership level experience in college and career readiness, K-16 education, or program implementation
2. Successful experience in a supervision role at a school site or district/ county office preferred.
3. Leadership in providing students, teachers, and administrators with the skills and knowledge for effective design, implementation, and evaluation of instructional programs.
Must possess a private vehicle, valid California driver’s license and carry current automobile insurance with at least minimum coverage for public liability and property damage.
Fingerprint clearance by both the Federal Bureau of Investigation and the California Department of Justice is a condition of appointment after all other required job conditions have been met.
Salary Info
$137,161 - $147,694 per year based on 4 steps. Maximum entry for external candidates of Step 3: $144,091. Additional $1,600 annual stipend for Doctorate degree.
