Description

 

- Team Supervision: Lead, train, and mentor a team of accessioning technicians, ensuring high performance and adherence to standard operating procedures (SOPs).

- Specimen Processing: Oversee the receipt, labeling, and data entry of specimens, ensuring accuracy and compliance with laboratory protocols.

- Quality Control: Monitor and maintain quality standards for accessioning processes, including specimen integrity and data accuracy.

- Workflow Management: Coordinate daily accessioning activities, prioritize tasks, and ensure timely processing to meet laboratory turnaround times.

- Compliance: Ensure adherence to regulatory requirements, including CLIA, CAP, HIPAA, and other relevant standards.

- Inventory and Supplies: Manage inventory of accessioning supplies and coordinate with procurement for timely restocking.

-Process Improvement: Identify opportunities to streamline accessioning processes, implement improvements, and reduce errors.

-Collaboration: Work closely with laboratory supervisors, pathologists, and other departments to resolve discrepancies and ensure accurate specimen tracking.

-Documentation: Maintain accurate records, prepare reports on accessioning metrics, and assist with audits as needed.

-Safety: Enforce laboratory safety protocols, including proper handling of biohazardous materials and adherence to PPE requirements.

-Draw, process, accession samples from client sites

Requirements

 

Education:

- Bachelor’s degree in a biological science, medical technology, or related field preferred.

- Associate’s degree or equivalent combination of education and experience may be considered.

Experience:

- Minimum of 3-5 years of experience in a laboratory setting, with at least 1-2 years in accessioning or a related role.

- Prior supervisory or leadership experience preferred.

-Phlebotomy experience a must

Skills and Abilities:

- Strong organizational and multitasking skills with keen attention to detail.

- Proficiency in laboratory information systems (LIS) and data entry.

- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills for team leadership and cross-departmental collaboration.

- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and handle high specimen volumes.

- Knowledge of laboratory regulations (e.g., CLIA, CAP, OSHA) and quality control standards.

- Problem-solving skills to address discrepancies and workflow challenges.

Salary Description
60,000.00
