- Analyze large operational and performance data sets to solve operating issues (for example, analyzing service reliability and train runtime data to identify areas for operational improvements).
- Build real-time performance dashboards and develop data presentations that communicate complex data and track progress in a user-friendly way for our audiences.
- Lead end-to-end project management of operational improvement initiatives—from strategy development and pilot design to implementation, execution, and performance evaluation.
- Present and communicate complex information in a clear, accessible way to various audiences, including senior executives, operating managers, and other field personnel
public administration, public policy, engineering, engineering technology, economics,
architecture, mathematics, physics, computer science, finance, accounting,
transportation planning, industrial psychology, urban planning/studies, human
resources management, labor relations, operations research, security management
or in a related area, or
2. A baccalaureate degree from an accredited college or university and two years of
satisfactory full-time professional experience working in budget administration,
accounting, economic or financial administration, engineering, in management or
methods of analysis, operations research, organization research or program
evaluation, personnel or public administration, staff development, employment
program planning or administration, security management; or general administration
administration, public administration, public policy, engineering, engineering
technology, economics, architecture, mathematics, physics, computer science,
finance, accounting, transportation planning, industrial psychology, urban
planning/studies, human resources management, labor relations, operations
research, security management or in a related area, and one year of full‐time
satisfactory professional experience working in budget administration, accounting,
economic or financial administration, engineering, in management or methods
analysis, operations research, organizational research or program evaluation,
personnel or public administration, staff development, employment program
planning or administration, security management; or general administration; or
of full-time satisfactory experience as described in "1" above.
- Proficiency in SQL, R, and/or Python for data analytics
- Experience with exploratory data analysis to identify trends and opportunities for improvement.
- Proficiency developing quick, creative data solutions in a fast-paced, rigorous environment.
- Strong data communication skills, including technical writing and data visualization for various audiences with different levels of data knowledge.
- Outstanding written and verbal communication skills that support presentation to all levels of internal and external stakeholders and daily collaboration with peer teams.
- Comfort developing and working in project-based frameworks
- Knowledge of and strong interest in rail systems design, operations, and maintenance.
- Experience in frontend development and familiarity with relevant languages, e.g., Java, HTML, is a plus.
