Description:

Physician-Based Coder – Certified

Loyola Medicine, part of Trinity Health, is a nationally recognized academic health system in Chicago’s western suburbs. We are seeking a Certified Physician-Based Coder to join our team and support accurate coding and compliance across multi-specialty services.

What you’ll do:

  • Review and accurately code procedures and surgeries from physician documentation.

  • Assign CPT, HCPCS, ICD-10 codes, and modifiers to ensure proper billing and reimbursement.

  • Confirm documentation supports codes assigned and query providers when clarification is needed.

  • Apply coding regulations and payer guidelines to reduce audit risk and support compliance.

  • Work with revenue cycle teams to ensure timely, consistent billing.

What you’ll need:

  • Associate degree or equivalent education/experience

  • Graduate of an accredited medical coding program

  • 1–2 years of relevant coding experience

  • One of the following certifications:

    • Required: CCS, CCS-P, or CPC, RHIA, RHIT

Compensation:

Pay Range: $24.33 - $37.73 per hour 

Actual compensation will fall within the range but may vary based on factors such as experience, qualifications, education, location, licensure, certification requirements, and comparisons to colleagues in similar roles.
