Central Ohio Primary Care is looking for a Medical Assistant (MA)to join our float team! Qualified candidates must have reliable transportation and be willing to travel to our different practices throughout Central Ohio. This is a full-time position working first shift hours Monday- Friday.
Duties/Responsibilities:
- Work closely with assigned area team to ensure COPC and practice/site standards are being met to achieve patient satisfaction.
- Prepare patients for examination and treatment. Obtain/verify patient histories, vital signs, and chief complaint.
- Maintain patient files, records, and other information regarding lab and radiology results, referrals, etc.
- Prepare exam and treatment rooms with necessary instruments. Clean exam rooms per OSHA requirements.
- Administer injections, draw blood, and assist Physician in preparing for minor procedures/physicals.
- Prepare and maintain (including sterilization) supplies and equipment for treatments. Adhere to OSHA and CLIA regulations.
- May order and maintain clinical and office supplies and equipment.
- Assist with scheduling of tests and treatments.
- Attend required meetings as required or requested.
- Participate in professional development activities and maintains professional affiliations.
- Maintain patient confidentiality in alignment with HIPAA regulation.
Requirements:
Required: Graduate of a Medical Assistant (MA), Licensed RN or LPN in the State of Ohio
Preferred: Prior experience working in a Medical office
Knowledge and Skills:
- Ability to remain flexible and adaptable to frequent assignment changes and varying clinical environments.
- Ability to work with a variety of patient populations including Adults, Pediatrics, and specialty care.
- Basic knowledge of immunizations, medications, and medical terminology.
- Knowledge of Electronic Health Records systems preferred.
- Must have proficient computer skills.
- Skill in assisting in a variety of treatments and medications, as directed.
- Skill in taking vital signs.
- Skill in maintaining records and recording test results.
- Skill in maintaining department quality assurance.
- Skill in establishing and maintaining effective working relationships with patients, medical staff, and the public.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
