Full Time Faculty - Certified Nursing Assistant (Tenure Track, Fall 2026)

Primary Duties and Responsibilities: 

College of DuPage seeks a full-time, tenure track faculty member to teach Certified Nursing Assistant courses starting in August 2026.

Thesuccessful candidate will provide classroom, lab, and clinical instructionusing a competency-based curriculum that prepares students for the IllinoisNurse Assistant Certification Exam. Courses are offered in 8-week and 16-weekformats during the fall, spring, and summer terms in accordance withIDPH-approved guidelines.

Candidatesshould value teaching and collaboration and embrace diversity and inclusion asessential to nursing education. Experience working with students of variedlearning abilities and promoting diversity, equity, and inclusion in theclassroom is preferred.

We are actively seeking innovative, collaborative colleagues who regularly examine their pedagogy and practices in order to foster more equitable, accessible, and inclusive student learning.

Faculty duties include classroom instruction, assessment, curriculum development, advising students, professional inquiry, committee work and engaging with instructional technology.

Teaching assignments may include various delivery modes, such as face-to-face, on-line, hybrid and/or blended formats during days, evenings and weekends. Faculty positions may not be fully remote.

Qualifications:

  • Associate Degree in Nursing with BNA Instructor Train the Trainer Course Certification, or Bachelor’s degree in nursing with 4 CEU's of approved Alzheimer's Training or BNA Instructor Train the Trainer Course Certification, or MSN with 4 CEU's of approved Alzheimer's Training or BNA Instructor Train the Trainer Course Certification required.
  • Two years of experience as a registered nurse (RN). Must have experience as a RN in at least one of the following areas:
    teaching theory in an accredited nurse training program or providing nursing care, including personal care and activities of daily living, to older adults or chronically ill adults required.
  • ActiveIllinois Registered Nurse License Required.
  • CurrentAHA BLS healthcare provider certification required.
  • CurrentAHA BLS healthcare instructor certification preferred.

A teaching demonstration will be required at interview.

Foreign Transcripts: Transcripts issued outside the UnitedStates require a course-by-course analysis with an equivalency statement from acertified transcript evaluation service verifying the degree equivalency tothat of an accredited institution within the USA.
