PURPOSE:
The Senior Supervisor role–is a key leadership role responsible for overseeing all aspects of daily operations in Big Flats. This role ensures the safe, efficient, and high-quality production of food products while maintaining compliance with company policies, food safety standards, and regulatory requirements. The superintendent provide direction to supervisors and support across production, quality, safety, maintenance, warehouse, and personnel management.
KEY ACCOUNTABILITEIS AND DELIVERABLES:
Promote a positive team environment, including efforts to continuously improve teamwork and communication
Contribute to establishing standard work, processes and improvements and ensure they’re communicated across the production teams
Provide strategic oversight and leadership for day shift operations, ensuring alignment across production, quality assurance, maintenance, and sanitation teams.
Foster a high-performance culture through proactive coaching, performance management, and effective conflict resolution, while driving operational excellence and team engagement.
Oversee the training and performance development framework for the Production Supervisors, ensuring all personnel are properly equipped with the knowledge and skills required for their roles.
Oversee compliance with established protocols and standards , and ensure consistent execution through effective supervision and accountability measures
Create and Support standardizing processes and tasks for supervisors and operators across all shifts
Lead and coordinate all production activities to safely meet daily production targets, quality standards, and delivery schedules.
Responsible for coordinating activities, tasks, and deliverables between shifts and departments
Lead continuous improvement initiatives to enhance safety, quality, efficiency, and reduce waste,.
Support and manage supervisor development and training opportunities
Support and lead department objectives, initiatives, and deliverables across all teams
Support safety and quality initiatives, objectives, and deliverables across all teams
Directs the flow of materials to assigned areas to maintain a smooth flow of work
Manage team time off requests
Provide strategic oversight to ensure timely resolution of employee concerns, facilitating appropriate escalation to Human Resources or the Operations Manager as needed. Partner with HR to address employee relations matters and guide frontline leadership in the consistent application of disciplinary protocols, fostering a culture of accountability and professional development.
Regularly walk the production floor throughout each shift, ensure safety and quality requirements are being met.
Promote safety throughout the assigned area where the crew is working
Follow all plant safety and GMP rules and regulations
Ability to read and understand required paperwork, and ensure operators are completing required paperwork properly
Assist where needed/required in all food safety and quality issues or programs
Ensures all quantitative and qualitative measures in the operating plan are met, including those related to Line Efficiencies, Losses, Health & Safety and compliance with GMPs and Food Safety/Quality
Responsible for food safety and quality as well as reporting food safety and quality problems to personnel with authority to initiate action
All other duties as assigned.
SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE REQUIRED:
5 years of supervisory experience in a manufacturing environment (food manufacturing experience with exposure to the product formulation, processing, and packaging functions preferred)
Ability to learn all production lines
QUALIFICATIONS REQUIRED:
High School diploma or equivalent required; Bachelor’s degree preferred
Education in HACCP (Food Safety) and Food Quality preferred
Understanding of safety regulations centered around food production

ADDITIONAL JOB DETAILS:
Base starting salary ranges from $77k - $97k/year. The base pay offered is based on market location and may vary depending on job-related knowledge, skills, experience, and internal equity. In addition to base pay, this role includes:
