Program and Role Summary
Wayfinder’s Supervised Visitation program provides parents whose children are in foster care with supervised visitation and coaching services to strengthen parenting skills, enhance parent-child relationships, and sustain family ties.
The primary focus on the Program Director is to oversee programs that support safe and structured interactions between children and their non-custodial parents or guardians. This role ensures the delivery of high-quality supervised visitation, parent coaching, and family support services while maintaining compliance with child welfare regulations, best practices, and organizational policies. The director will manage staff, develop program policies, coordinate with child welfare agencies, and advocate for the well-being of children and families.
This role provides support for San Joaquin and Yolo Counties.
Primary Responsibilities:
- Develops and executes policies and procedures and a system of accountability that tracks the quality of service, program budget, relevant documentation, and adherence to regulatory and contractual requirements.
- Responsible for the development, oversight, and maintenance of the department’s budget.
- Monitor grant/contract expenses to ensure that they are within the scope of the grant/contract; continuously monitor grant/contract expenses to ensure effective, proper and complete use of funds and to recommend contract alterations to the Executive Leadership.
- Oversee intake, assessment, and case management, transportation processes to ensure that visitation plans align with court orders and family needs.
- Function as a liaison between families, child welfare agencies, courts, and other service providers.
- Represent the organization in meetings, conferences, and policy discussions related to child welfare and visitation services, including collaborative co-presentation with the county to the court regarding visitation best practices as requested.

Qualifications
Education and Experience:
- A master’s degree in social work, psychology, child development, public administration, education, or a related field is preferred. A bachelor’s degree will be considered with direct experience overseeing Visitation and Coaching Programs, and management experience for a period of three years and must be enrolled in an MSW or MA program in related field .
- A minimum of five years of experience in child welfare, supervised visitation, family services, or a related field is required.
- Previous experience in program management, budget management, staff supervision, and working with families in crisis is required.
- Valid CA Driver License with a minimum of three (3) years good driving history and must be approved by the agency’s insurance carrier to drive agency vehicles.
