Description

We are seeking an experienced, hands-on Fab Shop Supervisor to join our team. This role is responsible for overseeing daily shop operations, supervising a team of 4, and ensuring production goals are consistently met. The ideal candidate demonstrates strong leadership, manufacturing experience, and proficiency with shop systems and inventory methods.

Responsibilities

- Supervise, coach, and develop a team of 4 shop employees to achieve daily production targets

- Organize, delegate, and monitor workflow to ensure production schedules and quality standards are met

- Lead shop safety programs, enforce company policies, and uphold a clean and organized work environment

- Support fabrication processes and resolve fabrication or assembly issues as they arise

- Collaborate with Production Manager to set priorities and allocate resources efficiently

- Monitor employee performance, provide training, and conduct performance evaluations

- Manage shop inventory, including purchasing, receiving, storage, and usage of raw materials and supplies

- Conduct regular inventory cycle counts and track discrepancies

- Utilize ERP systems for inventory management, order tracking, and production scheduling

- Maintain accurate documentation in ERP and shop records

- Communicate effectively with other departments to resolve issues and coordinate production requirements

- Ensure compliance with safety standards and quality protocols

- Perform intermediate level tasks in Microsoft Excel and other PC applications

- Other duties as assigned by management

Qualifications


Requirements

- Previous supervisory experience in a fabrication or manufacturing environment

- Ability to inspire and lead a productive team

- Strong understanding of fabrication equipment, tools, and processes

- Experience managing inventory in a shop footprint

- Proven ability to conduct inventory cycle counts and resolve variances

- Working knowledge of ERP (Enterprise Resource Planning) systems

- Intermediate PC skills, including Microsoft Excel (creating/editing spreadsheets, basic formulas)

- Excellent communication, organizational, and problem-solving abilities
