Position Overview
The Warehouse Manager is responsible for ensuring maximum efficiency and effectiveness of the Food Bank’s warehouse operations, product acquisition, storage, and distribution, including the general maintenance and cleanliness of the Food Bank’s facilities and equipment. The Warehouse Manager must build and maintain working relationships with coworkers, member agencies, and suppliers. The Warehouse Manager must ensure the warehouse operates safely, efficiently, and in compliance with all applicable regulations at all times.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities

Oversee daily warehouse operations — receiving, inventory, shipping, and food safety.

Ensure accuracy in order pulling, staging, and reporting.

Verify inbound and outbound orders and maintain up-to-date inventory.

Support Agency Floor operations, including pulling orders, invoicing, and loading vehicles.

Help maintain and track warehouse equipment and facility upkeep.

Inspect coolers daily and maintain records.

Partner with the Director of Compliance on pest control and sanitation programs.

Lead a culture of cleanliness and safety throughout all warehouse areas.

Hire, train, and supervise warehouse staff, ensuring efficient schedules and teamwork.

Ensure all staff and agency partners follow safe handling and food safety practices.

Maintain proper rotation and organization in coolers and freezers.

Monitor paperwork flow and ensure accurate, timely data entry.

Step in to support any warehouse area when needed.

Conduct regular inventory counts and resolve any discrepancies.

Deliver excellent customer service to agencies, donors, and partners.
Job Requirements
Required Education, Skills, Knowledge, and Experience

High school diploma or GED
-
At least 5 years of experience leading warehouse operations or working in a fast-paced environment

A strategic mindset with a focus on continuous improvement and efficiency

Strong leadership, organizational, and coaching skills — able to manage conflict, mentor others, and delegate effectively

Proficiency in operating forklifts, pallet jacks, and other warehouse equipment

Excellent communication skills and the ability to work well with individuals from all backgrounds and levels

Strong problem-solving and analytical skills

A team player with a sincere commitment to collaboration across departments, volunteers, and community partners

Knowledge of food safety, salvage standards, and warehouse best practices

ServSafe Manager certification (or willingness to obtain)

Comfort using Microsoft Office and applying basic math skills.
Physical Demands
Ability to lift 50 lbs. and to move heavy objects with proper equipment
Schedule and Travel
Flexible schedule Monday through Saturday; expected to attend special events, some of which may occur in the evenings or on weekends
Some travel and periodic participation in seminars and meetings are required
