Prepare and process complex reinsurance transactions, including ceded and assumed premium and claims activity.Perform monthly, quarterly, and annual reconciliations of reinsurance accounts and balances, identifying and resolving any discrepancies.Collaborate with underwriting, claims, and actuarial departments to ensure all reinsurance data is accurate and correctly processed.Prepare financial reports related to reinsurance activity for management, auditors, and regulatory bodies.Support internal and external audits by providing documentation, reconciliations, and explanations of reinsurance-related transactions.Assist in the preparation of regulatory filings, such as NAIC and Schedule F reporting.Manage cash settlements related to reinsurance premiums and recoveries, including collections and payments.Review reinsurance contract terms to ensure proper accounting treatment and compliance with agreement provisions.Identify and implement process improvements to increase efficiency, accuracy, and overall control of reinsurance accounting functions.Stay current with accounting standards (GAAP/IFRS) and regulatory requirements affecting the reinsurance industry.

Education: Master’s degree in accounting, Finance, or a related field.Experience: Previous experience in reinsurance or insurance accounting is required.Skills:In-depth knowledge of reinsurance concepts, including treaty and facultative reinsurance.Strong understanding of accounting principles (GAAP and Statutory).Proficiency in accounting software (e.g., Workday, SAP) and advanced Microsoft Excel skills.Exceptional analytical, problem-solving, and organizational abilities.Excellent attention to detail and a high degree of accuracy.Strong written and verbal communication skills.Ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a team.
