Key Responsibilities:  

  • Build a good working relationship with your team 
  • Develop your team through learning & development initiatives, coaching, goal setting and regular feedback 
  • Set objectives, KPI ́s and 1on1s in line with Maersk purpose and values together with your manager 
  • Improve constant productivity and efficiency, while managing the workload & team structure 
  • Empower cross-departmental collaboration with other Maersk functional units, to ensure the timely and cost-effective movement of customer ́s cargo 
  • Deepen understanding of the German/Austrian Hinterland network and market 
  • Ensure capacity planning is accurate and focus on growth in volumes 
  • Empower your team to take first action and be a step ahead when a functional obstacle appears 
  • De-escalate critical situations with appropriate guidance 
  • Build a customer centric working relationship with customer facing teams and mirror the same to our suppliers  
  • Constantly motivate and engage your team for positive mindset (can-do-attitude, be open for change) 
  • Drive performance in daily operations through projects and create/implement standardized ways of working 
  • Work closely with Vendor Management to ensure our suppliers deliver highest reliability and performance 
  • Take the lead in internal and external meetings, understand needs and provide solutions 
  • In case of Managers absence, represent the department when participation is required 

Who we are looking for:  

  • Education and Experience (at least four years of experience in the transportation industry) 
  • Ready to gain leadership experience (leading and developing a team) 
  • Ability to lead meetings in combination with technical skills 
  • Strong understanding of transportation industry 
  • Great communication skills to people at all levels  
  • Organizational and time management skills & the ability for multi-tasking and prioritizing to meet deadlines and high-level goals 
  • Conflict resolution and negotiation – bringing others together 
  • Team player – works together with others on several levels to achieve results & fosters teamwork 
  • Proven ability to deliver under pressure
