Position: RPN Nursing Coordinator
Work Location: various GCHC locations
Hours/Week: 28 hours per week
Length of Contract: 3 Months
Reports to: Clinic Supervisor, Primary Care

Summary:
The Nursing Coordinator (RPN) maintains the smooth and efficient flow of the clinics by acting as a coordinating administrative resource for the Primary Care nursing team. The Nurse Coordinator works at the top of scope to oversee the administrative nursing functions of the medical clinics while functioning as a direct client care nurse.
PRINCIPAL JOB DUTIES
Monitor the daily needs of the clinic and support in managing gaps, where needed (i.e. staff shortages, incident reporting). Collaborates with the leadership team on clinical improvement initiatives.
Oversee nursing administrative responsibilities (30%)
- Ministry Reporting (MSAA, PPE)
- Client Attrition
- Monitoring and ordering stock
- Oversight and verification of labs
- OTN reporting and booking
- Supporting Influenza Clinic
- Oversee IPAC Standards
Clinical Client Care (70%)
- Checks vitals as indicated in preparation for the appointment
- Forms completion
- Assists providers with clinic procedures, including minor surgical procedures
- Changes dressings, completes pregnancy tests, urine tests, glucose tests; etc.
- Maintains medical, pharmaceutical, laboratory and sterile supplies
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS & ABILITIES
- Registered Practical Nurse, active member of the College of Nurses, in good standing
- Three to five years of broad-based practical nursing experience in a combination of hospital and community settings and/or public health.
- Demonstrated commitment to, and knowledge of community-based health care.
- Basic computer proficiency
- Ability to set goals and get results within a set timeline
- Ability to multitask and work independently
- Effective time management, decision making and organizational skills
- High level of confidentiality
- Flexible towards change
