Responsibilities
- Perform functional, scalability, performance, stress and system functional testing of the desired/designated new feature development in the optical networking domain.
- Develop and test suits to support software release cycle and conduct requirement analyses for new features and enhancements.
- Perform automation of test suits/test Cases using Python Language and regression tests using batch process tools to uncover issues in the software.
- Interact with software design and system engineering team throughout the software release cycle to achieve the quality of the features supported by the product.
- Identify and support debugging the software bugs and fixing them and retest them until the required quality is achieved.
- Accountable for quality and accuracy of own output.
- Responsible for contribution to teamwork.
- Carry out tasks/activities according to assignment and set guidelines.
- Demonstrates initiative and adaptability to changing business environments. #LI-DNI
Telecommuting from a location within commuting distance of Murray Hill, NJ may be permitted up to 40%.
Qualifications
Must have a Bachelor’s degree or foreign equivalent in Computer Science, Computer Information Systems, Electrical Engineering, Electronic Engineering, or a related field, and 3 years of related work experience; OR a Master’s degree or foreign equivalent in Computer Science, Computer Information Systems, Electrical Engineering, Electronic Engineering, or a related field, and 1 year of related work experience.
Of the required experience, must have 1 year of experience with the following:
- Data networking protocols and technologies;
- Testing the quality and validation of functionality of Routers, Carrier Ethernet switches, IP DSLAM, IP and TDM networks, or Optical networking systems;
- Software programming skills in programming languages:
- Python and Perl in order to automate test cases;
- Advanced optical test measurement equipment; and SW quality measurements tools: JIRA or HP ALM.
