Job Description

• Bachelor's degree/Retiree
• Valid Texas teaching certificate

• Effective verbal and written communications skills as well as a high degree of literacy and higher order thinking skills
• Strong organizational, communication and interpersonal skills
• Follow written and/or oral directions and to exercise good judgement are required
• Work effectively and harmoniously with students and school personnel is essential
• Ability to instruct a small group of students
• Working knowledge of the grade level(s)/subject(s) assigned

• Experience instructing students in a classroom environment

1. Provide direct instruction to assigned students.
2. Plan for lessons to be taught in small or individual groups.
3. Employ a variety of instructional techniques and media consistent with the needs and capabilities of the student groups involved.
4. Analyze individual student progress and data to make instructional decisions.
5. Develop and maintains resources to support the students.
6. Establish and maintain effective classroom management and administer discipline in accordance with board policies, administrative regulations, and campus management plans.
7. Participate in training and staff development as needed.
8. Establish with students a rapport that is friendly, but not familiar.
9. Present for students a positive role model that supports the mission of the school district.
10. Keep the teacher informed of student progress.
11. Maintain a positive and professional relationship with all colleagues, students, parents, and community members through effective communication both verbally and written.
12. Use acceptable communication skills to present information accurately and clearly.
13. Keep the teacher informed of interactions with students.
14. Be flexible in working with all students.
15. Maintain confidentiality in all matters.
16. Model non-discriminatory practices in all activities.
17. Demonstrate behavior that is professional, ethical, and responsible.
18. Compile, maintain, and file all reports, records, and other documents required.
19. Follow district safety protocols and emergency procedures.
20. Ensure compliance with all local policies and state and federal statutes including the Educator Code of Ethics.
21. Performs such other tasks and accepts such other responsibilities as may be assigned

• Standard office/educational equipment including personal computer, tablets, Smart Board, etc.

• Ability to communicate effectively (verbal and written); ability to instruct
• Maintain emotional control under stress

• Prolonged sitting, standing and walking; bending/stooping, pushing/pulling, and twisting
• Repetitive hand motions

• Must be able to work with frequent interruptions in a variety of educational settings and maintain professional demeanor under stress; Work inside and outside (exposure to sun, heat, cold, and inclement weather); exposure to noise
• Regular attendance is an essential function.
