Position Summary:
PLEASE NOTE: This position is available in any branch location of Security State Bank & Trust: Fredericksburg, Fort Worth, New Braunfels, Marble Falls, Kerrville, Boerne, Bee Cave, Bulverde, Lago Vista, Liberty Hill, Dripping Springs, Blanco, Comfort, Harper, Ingram, Spicewood, Canyon Lake, Kingsland
Performs a multitude of job duties necessary to support the origination and sale of mortgage loans such as locking interest rates with investors, processing appraisal orders and coordinating shipping of closed loan files for purchase by investors.
Responsibilities:
- Emulates SSB&T Core Values.
Lock Desk Specific:
- Registers loans & locks interest rate with investors upon loan officer request
- Ensures established profit margin is maintained for loans across the board
- Manages exception requests from loan officers with occasional assistance from Mortgage Manager
- Monitors changes to loan terms throughout the process to ensure rate lock is not affected
- Monitors lock expiration dates and extends as needed
- Manages and updates the pricing engine software as needed
- Creates/generates management reports daily, monthly and ad hoc as needed
Appraisal Desk Specific:
- Orders appraisals/final inspections and tracks progress until received;
- Requests corrections from appraisers when needed
- Updates Encompass with appraisal status and information
- Uploads XML appraisal file to UCDP to obtain SSRs for file
- Places appraisal invoice in G: drive for management approval and Accounts Payable payment
Post Closing Specific:
- Coordinates post-closing/shipping process with fulfillment vendor and investors
- Uploads Closing Disclosures through UCD
- Registers closed loans through MERS
- Monitors pending conditions and obtains additional documentation from Processor or Underwriter to clear for purchase
- Reconciles purchase advices when loans are purchased by investor
Requirements
- High School Diploma or equivalent required; 4-year college degree preferred
- Minimum of 5 years mortgage banking experience in a loan origination business model
- Relevant experience in residential mortgage operations
- Previous experience in Secondary or Loan Delivery preferred
- Knowledge of USPAP, AIR and appraisal related guidelines
- Must be proficient with Microsoft Office products and software
- Previous Encompass experience preferred
- Previous Optimal Blue experience preferred
- Ability to multitask and manage one’s time efficiently
- Strong attention to detail and sense of urgency
- Strong verbal and written communication skills
- Aptitude for learning new skills and duties
