Join Our Team!

We have an immediate need for full-time Van Driver to join our team at The Alloro at University Groves, one of United Group’s professionally managed luxury senior living communities located in Sarasota, FL.  To learn more about our property, please visit: www.thealloro.com 

Transportation + Vehicle Maintenance

  • Operates and maintains buses in a safe and legal manner
  • Transports van to repair shop when required for oil changes and all necessary repairs
  • Maintains daily trip log, detailing mileage and gas
  • Reports any vehicle accidents or resident injuries to the Manager immediately 
  • Reviews calendar monthly, weekly, and daily for scheduled trips to plan accordingly

Resident Services + Event Support

  • Assists Lifestyle Coordinator with scheduled events, parties, etc.
  • Assists team members with light cleaning duties when there are no resident activities scheduled that require driving the van
  • Provides backup coverage/support for front desk Concierge – as needed
Work Environment + Physical Demands
  • May be exposed to outdoor spaces, service areas, or other environments, which will, by their nature, have variances in air quality, temperature, walking surfaces, lighting, and other physical aspects
  • May be exposed to substances such as – paints, cleaning agents, chemicals, which may have various odors that may be considered irritants
  • Frequent body movements include lifting, moving, transferring, bending, stooping, squatting, and reaching
  • Must be able to sit for extended periods while operating a vehicle.
  • Frequent entering and exiting of the van throughout the workday.
  • Able to lift up to 50 pounds, unassisted, with twisting and turning of the torso, and stand or walk for prolonged periods of time
  • Reasonable accommodation may be made to enable individuals to perform essential functions
Job Overview + Requirements
  • Job Type: Van Driver; non – exempt; $19.00 per hour plus bonus program. 
  • Work Hours: Hours vary due to resident activities; Typically, Monday - Saturday 9:00am – 7:00pm
  • Physical Requirements: lifting, moving, transferring, bending, stooping, squatting, and reaching. Must be able to sit for extended periods while operating a vehicle.
  • Required Education: Minimum High School education or equivalent is required
  • Required Experience: Must be 25 years of age with three (3) years of driving experience.  Must have a valid driver's license – CDL is preferred.  Efficient knowledge of traffic violations.   
  • Qualities: Clean driving record that demonstrates sound judgment and good safety habits.  Demonstrates integrity on a personal and professional level. Excellent customer service and communication skills.  Ability to interact with a wide range of people and to solve problems involving residents, personnel, emergency situations, etc.
