Senior Marine Broker/Trader

About the Role
World Fuel is seeking a Senior Marine Broker/Trader to join our dynamic global team. In this role, you will be at the forefront of our marine bunker fuel procurement strategy—building strong supplier relationships, driving competitive pricing, and delivering exceptional value to our customers. Key Responsibilities
- Fuel Procurement & Negotiation: Manage daily spot and term inquiries/contracts for conventional and alternative marine bunker fuels. Negotiate competitive pricing with suppliers to meet sales objectives and maximize value.
- Market Intelligence: Conduct in-depth market research to identify new business opportunities and pricing strategies. Develop and execute action plans to expand market share and profitability.
- Client & Supplier Relationships: Act as a trusted advisor for designated regions, providing expert guidance and value-added solutions. Build and maintain strong relationships with suppliers and key stakeholders.
- Trading & Risk Management: Participate in physical trading and derivatives/hedging strategies to enhance competitiveness and mitigate risk, adhering to company policies.
- Operational Excellence: Oversee post-sales activities, ensuring smooth physical deliveries and resolving operational challenges, including bunker fuel claims.
- Global Collaboration: Work closely with international teams to drive business development and strengthen our global portfolio.
What We’re Looking For
- Industry Experience: Previous experience in marine bunker, petroleum, or shipping industry strongly preferred.
- Education: Bachelor’s degree (BS, BA, or equivalent) required.
- Skills:
- Strong negotiation and analytical abilities
- Results-driven mindset with excellent teamwork skills
- Responsive and proactive work ethic
- Flexibility: Ability to work early mornings, evenings, and weekends as needed.
- Travel: Willingness to travel up to 5–10% or as required.
