Job Duties
Key Responsibilities
Contract Development & Management
Negotiate, draft, review, and maintain contracts / MOUs / affiliation agreements with school districts, boards of education, and other educational partners.
Ensure that contracts define scope of services (behavioral health, wellness, school physicals, screening, suspicion of use, etc.), performance metrics, reporting requirements, payment terms, insurance/ liability, and compliance obligations.
Program Implementation & Oversight
Coordinate delivery of services in schools: schedule clinicians, wellness events, screenings, behavioral health sessions, physicals.
Ensure clinical and administrative compliance (licensure, credentialing, patient privacy/HIPAA, etc.).
Oversee referral networks, case management for students in school‑based programs.
Stakeholder Liaison
Serve as point of contact between hospital, school administrators, school nurses/counselors, parents/guardians, and community behavioral health providers.
Educate school stakeholders about services offered; ensure clear communication about protocols, consent, costs, follow‑up issues.
Quality Assurance & Data / Reporting
Track program metrics (number of students served; outcomes; satisfaction; referrals; follow‑ups).
Monitor clinical quality, safety, adherence to hospital and school policies.
Prepare regular reports for hospital leadership and school partners.
Billing, Funding, & Budget
Ensure proper billing / reimbursement for services rendered under contracts.
Assist in setting up budgets for school‑partnered programs, tracking costs, expenditures.
Identify and pursue grant or alternative funding sources to support school‑based service programs.
Policy & Regulatory Compliance
Stay current with regulations around school health services, behavioral health, substance use assessments, child physicals, etc.
Ensure all services delivered meet standards (state DOH, DOE, hospital compliance, licensing).
Program Promotion & Community Outreach
Collaborate with hospital marketing / communications to promote school‑based services.
Facilitate workshops, parent/guardian information sessions, trainings in schools related to behavioral health, wellness, etc.
Supervision & Collaboration
May supervise staff (clinical and administrative) dedicated to school‑based programs.
Work cross‑functionally with hospital departments (clinical, legal, compliance, finance, HR).
Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree required; Master’s degree preferred (Public Health, Health Administration, Social Work, or related field).
Prior experience (3‑5+ years) in school health services, behavioral health coordination, or contracts/affiliations in healthcare and/or educational settings.
Understanding of behavioral health services for children/adolescents, school wellness programs, suspicion of substance use assessments.
Strong contract negotiation, budgeting and financial acumen.
Excellent organizational, project management, interpersonal and communication skills.
Familiarity with compliance, credentialing, licensing, privacy laws (HIPAA, etc.).
Ability to collect, analyze, and report data.
Comfortable working across multiple sites (schools), some travel local; ability to work with school schedules.
Working Conditions & Other Requirements
Full‑time position; hospital or health system environment; partial presence in schools.
May require occasional evenings or weekends for outreach events.
Possible requirement of background checks, health screenings, clearances for working in schools.
Must maintain up‑to‑date professional credentials where relevant.
Salary commensurate with experience within posted range
$65,000 –$85,000/ Year
