7th & 8th Grade English Teacher

Job Summary:
Salina South Middle School is seeking a passionate and dedicated English teacher to join our team of educators committed to helping students grow as confident readers, writers, and thinkers. This teacher will guide 7th and 8th grade students through engaging lessons that build essential communication skills, foster creativity, and inspire a lifelong love of learning, all within a positive, supportive classroom community.
Qualifications:
Bachelor’s degree in education or a related field
Valid Kansas teaching license with appropriate English endorsement
Strong communication, collaboration, and classroom management skills
Commitment to student success and continuous professional growth
Key Responsibilities:
Design and deliver engaging English Language Arts instruction aligned with district standards
Create an inclusive classroom environment that encourages participation and respect
Use varied teaching methods to meet the needs of diverse learners
Assess and monitor student progress, providing meaningful feedback and support
Collaborate with colleagues, families, and support staff to enhance student learning
Participate in team planning, professional development, and school improvement efforts
Maintain accurate records and comply with all district policies and procedures
Demonstrate professionalism, enthusiasm, and care for students
Physical Requirements:
Must be able to perform required duties and move efficiently in a fast-paced, student-centered environment.
Salary:
Range: $46,250 – $76,938, commensurate with education and experience. Additional compensation may be available for longevity, extra duties, or other district-approved incentives.
