An Onboarding Controller leads a team focused on a everchanging set of Aduro’s newest clients with the goal of delivering on the high quality of service and technical work Aduro is known for. The Onboarding Controller role is multifaceted in that you need to be able to play the role of preparer and reviewer at any given time, while adapting to the needs of the clients daily. In-depth knowledge and industry experience will enable you to best support your team and our clients. This is not a single focus role; Controllers balance the needs of our clients with the needs of their team and provide solutions. This role is ideal for someone with strong project management skills and thrives on finding solutions to new problems. They drive workflow and ensure that all team members’ priorities, work product, and client communications are cohesive, efficient, and seamless.
Here is the type of work you will do:
- Act as the in-charge and main-point-of-contact for multiple clients including:
- Managing workflow and coordination of work amongst Aduro team members including but not limited to your Director or Senior Controller, Accounting Managers, Staff Accountants and Management Company Team members
- Setting up and running recurring client check-ins. Topics to be covered include current status, open items, client onboarding status and an update from client on upcoming operational needs
- Responding to ad-hoc client requests in a thoughtful and professional manner that is in-line with Aduro processes and industry best practices
- All client request emails should be responded to within 24 hours
- Reconcile banking transactions and prepare journal entries in accordance with US GAAP in Xero
- Drive month-end close process and raise follow-up questions to Director or Senior Controller, CFO or client (as appropriate)
- Reconcile and maintain investment information for all fund investments
- Prepare quarterly financial statements including partners’ capital allocations
- Utilize proprietary investment management database to send investor correspondence including capital contributions, distributions, and quarterly reporting
- Update proprietary investment management database for fund activity and investments
- Prepare audit materials and manage year-end financial statement audit and tax work
- Respond to ad hoc General Partner / Limited Partner data requests
The salary range for the Onboarding Controller position is $110,000 - $160,000. Salary is determined based on current market data and candidate experience level. Employees in the Onboarding Controller role are eligible to participate in the Aduro Bonus Program.
