Position Duties

  • Direct supervision of the staff assigned to services and programs at a Public Health Center to include hiring, performance evaluations, training, counseling, team building and discipline of staff. 
  • Lead program planning, implementation, coordination, and evaluation. 
  • Guide staff and lead activities at Public Health Centers, satellite clinics, and other community locations. 
  • Provide support and training to staff regarding use of reflection, trauma informed practices and reduction of secondary trauma. 
  • Work collaboratively with the community and other agencies to assess the public's needs, assist in development of program goals and objectives and implementation of Pathways Clinic programming. 
  • Monitor budgets for assigned program(s). 
  • Coordinate schedules for UW Residents/and or Fellows. 
  • Perform Quality Improvement/Quality Assurance work, including chart reviews, to ensure compliance with clinical service. 
  • Work collaboratively with the lead physician to ensure patient workflow and supervision of the care team. 
  • Work closely with the Program Manager regarding funding, data and performance measures, and program requirements. And assist other team members on continuous improvement efforts. 
  • Coordinate, review, and process patient satisfaction and patient grievance surveys and reports, including conducting investigation, analyzing findings, and resolving patient concerns and complaints as needed. 
  • Assist others to identify performance measures that meet the needs of their work and to make the measures visual.
  •  Coordinate schedules for UW Fellows, including onboarding of new UW Fellows each year and all work associated to closing out work as they complete their fellowship in clinic. 
  • Conduct investigations and analyze findings. 
  • Review and authorize expenditures. 
  • Analyze data, review policies, procedures, and guidelines; organize and write findings, recommendations, manuals, and reports. 
  • Organize meetings and present relevant topics to clinical and non-clinical audiences. 
  • Oversee clinic expansion efforts as the Pathways program increases services to urgent primary care and mobile teams. 
  • Partner with stakeholders to develop and implement guidelines and streamlined workflows designed to enhance care delivery for both new and existing processes. 
  • Collaborate with leadership and staff to define and establish clear roles within the clinic. 
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

Minimum Qualifications

Ideal Candidate:

  • Requires current Washington State Licensed Practical Nurse license in good standing. 
  • Bachelor's degree in nursing science or a graduate level nursing degree of MSN, DNP and or PhD 
  • Washington state driver's license and/or ability to travel to sites within Seattle-King County 
  • Documentation of current Basic Life Support (BLS) CPR certification with AED training required at time of hire. CPR/AED HeartSaver courses do not meet this requirement.

Desired Candidate:
  • Advanced training in nursing administration or public health, or comparable experience. 
  • Demonstrated experience in personnel supervision, and management techniques. 
  • Demonstrated ability to hold people accountable and give useful feedback. 
  • Knowledge of program development, evaluation techniques, and Quality Improvement processes. 
  • Knowledge of occupational health, handling of hazards, and safety principles 
  • Skilled in interviewing techniques and principles. 
  • Previous experience providing guidance in a community-based program, and/or community health nursing experience desired. 
  • Knowledge of Buprenorphine and/or substance use disorder. 
  • Knowledge of and experience in workflows, job aides, and Electric Health Patient Record (EPIC) training. 
  • Experience in Behavioral Health, professional training or knowledge in behavioral health affecting vulnerable populations or other relevant experiences. 
  • Knowledge of Public Health's low-barrier harm-reduction approach. 
  • Skill in coordinating teams with multi-disciplinary staff. 
  • Strong oral and written communications skills. 
  • Skill in working effectively with diverse individuals and populations. 
  • Ability to work on several projects/tasks simultaneously. 
  • Ability to foster a collaborative and highly effective team environment. 
  • Ability to develop and implement innovations toward improving clinic delivery of services. 
  • Skill in using current office software programs including word processing, spreadsheet, database, and email. 
  • Skill in working effectively and flexibly as a team member to accomplish necessary tasks.
