Salary: Starting at $15.00 / hour - depending on education / experience

 

Job Summary

The Physical Therapy Aide will assist the therapists as support staff via technical and clerical tasks as well as assist when needed to ensure client safety and flow of treatment sessions.

Responsibilities:

Responsibilities: 

  • Responsible for typing, copying, faxing, filing, and telephone/computer communications as they relate to the physical therapy department.
  • Assembles, organizes, files, and disassembles charts.
  • Assists therapists as needed to ensure client safety and gather equipment that becomes needed during sessions within PT guidelines of practice.
  • Assists Participants with toileting and hygiene needs, throughout Stabler, as needed.
  • Transports clients to/from therapies as needed, including making reminder calls for Participants to attend therapy.
  • Organizes and keeps inventory of physical therapy equipment and supplies, places orders for equipment and supplies when necessary.
  • Monitors and assists in coordinating schedules and clinical meetings.
  • Manages interruptions in physical therapy gym in an effort to minimize disruptions of physical therapy sessions in progress.
  • Basic wheelchair maintenance and repairs/maintain gym and office areas; cleans mats daily and keep items off floor in coordination with the O.T. aide.
  • Facilitates Physiatry/Wheelchair Clinics/Shoe & Orthotic Clinics.
  • Follows-up on client equipment orders and repairs.
  • Complete annual equipment safety inspections on a regular basis to coordinate with an outside agency via Clinical Director/Director of Allied Health.
  • Checks fire safety/emergency equipment in coordination with the O.T. aide.
  • Checks that doctor’s annual orders for physical therapy are dated, recorded, and filed.
  • Communicates with sensitivity to individual with an awareness and respect for cultural differences.
  • Embraces a cooperative system in communication with clinical, residential, medical, structured day, and vocational staff to share information in an effort to maximize patient/client outcomes
  • Manages petty cash accounts for therapies
Qualifications:

Qualifications:

  • Must be a high school graduate.
  • Must have basic computer skills.
  • Must have a PA’s driver’s license and the ability to drive.
  • Must be able to lift 50 pounds.
