About the Department

The current vacancy requires bilingual Spanish and candidates are strongly encouraged to apply to be considered for future opportunities.

The Educational Services Division is now accepting applications for the position of Migrant Education Program Community Liaison.

The Migrant Education Program Community Liaison serves as a liaison between County Office of Education, personnel, parents, students and others regarding the Migrant Education program; performs a variety of supportive tasks; promotes parent education and involvement in various school programs and other activities; serves as an interpreter for non-English speaking student, families and members of the community; performs a variety of general duties in support of an assigned school site.

This position is full-time and has a work year of 12 months per year, 261 days, 8 hours per day.

The Migrant Education Community Liaison position is federally funded until June 30, 2026.

Minimum Qualifications

Education and Experience:
Any combination equivalent to:

  • Education: Graduation from high school AND
  • Experience: Two years of experience working with community agencies targeting migrant populations

LICENSES AND OTHER REQUIREMENTS

  • Valid California class C driver’s license
  • Incumbents must be proficient in English and a designated second language and pass an oral and written proficiency test in a designated second language.

EXAMINATION PROCEDURES

  • Assessments and interviews may take place virtually or in-person.
  • Following the final filing date, the qualifications of all candidates will be evaluated. 
  • The most qualified candidates will be invited to participate in a written exam, tentatively scheduled for November 21, 2025. 
  • Those who pass the written exam will be invited to participate in an oral examination with subject matter experts, tentatively scheduled for December 9, 2025.
  • Based on the final scores of qualified candidates, Classified Personnel Services will establish a ranked candidate list. 
  • Selected candidates from the list will be invited to a second interview with the hiring authorities, tentatively scheduled for the week of December 15, 2025.
  • Second interviews may be held in-person.
  • Candidates will be invited over email to participate in examination and selection steps, using the email supplied within their SchoolJobs.com applications, or as updated by candidates in their SchoolJobs.com master profiles. Therefore, it is recommended that candidates check their email at least daily.
