Job Description:
Summary
Iowa State University’s Trademark Licensing Office has a full-time opening for a Trademark Licensing Specialist. We are looking for a self-motivated, results-oriented individual with an understanding of the collegiate licensing space to assist in managing the program. Typical trademark licensing duties include daily interactions with Iowa State licensees, retailers, units/departments, and student organizations.
Under the direction of the Trademark Licensing Director, the Trademark Licensing Specialist will:
- Supports the Director of Trademark Licensing in the development, implementation, and evaluation of the department’s strategic licensing plan.
- Collaborates with the Director in the interpretation and implementation of the program policy, guidelines, and procedures.
- Serves as the primary branding contact for review of trademark usage requests by university departments and student organizations
- Coordinates the internal and external artwork approval process through the contracted licensing agency’s and the University’s respective platforms.
- With the Director, manages the University Crafter program through the Community Connect platform.
- Presents licensing, branding, and trademark information at training programs for university departments and student organizations as required.
- Travels to licensing association convention and symposium for professional development, as well as meetings and seminars lead by licensees.
- Perform other duties as assigned
