Now, we’re seeking a Medical Assistant to support our clinical operations by delivering essential care, patient communication, and workflow coordination that ensures a smooth, welcoming experience for every patient who walks through our doors.
The Opportunity
As a Medical Assistant, you’ll play a vital role in both the administrative and clinical aspects of patient care. From preparing patients for procedures to documenting care plans and coordinating follow-ups, you’ll help ensure each visit is thorough, timely, and supportive. What You’ll Do:
Clinical Support & Patient Care
- Facilitate the patient intake process with professionalism and warmth
- Prepare patients for exams and procedures
- Obtain and record vital signs and medical history, including temperature, pulse, allergies, medications, and presenting concerns
- Collect urine samples and prepare specimens for lab analysis
- Assist with patient education and respond to patient questions or phone calls
- Follow clinical protocols and care standards
- Document care plans, provider instructions, and test results in the electronic health record
- Prepare prescriptions using electronic systems
- Communicate test results and care plans to patients as directed
- Schedule diagnostic testing and follow up to ensure completion
- Obtain prior authorizations for medications
- Clean and sterilize instruments; stock and organize exam rooms
- Maintain HIPAA compliance and patient confidentiality
- Support process improvement projects and attend required meetings
- Assist with office initiatives and serve on committees as requested
- Ensure certifications and training are current and maintained
- Deliver exceptional customer service and communicate clearly
- Bring a positive, team-oriented attitude to your work
- Adapt well to changing priorities and patient volumes
- Understand medical terminology and clinical preparation procedures
- Take initiative and enjoy supporting others
- Prioritize accuracy, professionalism, and confidentiality in everything you do
- High school diploma or equivalent required
- Current/valid CMA or CNA certification or degree required
- Knowledge of patient preparation and HIPAA compliance required
- 2 years of experience in a clinic setting preferred
- Proficiency with computers and relevant healthcare technology
- Familiarity with basic medical terminology
- Strong organizational skills and attention to detail
- Ability to lift, assist, and support patients as needed
