Long Term Substitute Special Education Teacher - Tecumseh MS en Warrick County School Corporation

This positin is set to start on November 6 and run thorugh the rest of the semester.  

Successful candidate must be licensed to teach special education in a middle school setting.

Description:

Seeking a dynamic licensed Special Education teacher to lead students and staff to up-to-date best practices in Special Education instruction. The primary focus of instruction is in the area of Language Arts and Math.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

Maintain accurate and complete student records, and prepare reports on children and activities, as required by laws, district policies, and administrative regulations.

Develop instruction for individual learners, academically, behaviorally, and socially as an ongoing process.

Provide each child with special educational services in his/her least restrictive environment.

Coordinate placement of students with special needs into general education classes.

Confer with parents, administrators, school psychologists, social workers, and professionals to develop individual educational plans designed to promote students' educational, physical, and social development.

Participate in all appropriate Case Conference Meetings.

When appropriate, modify the general education curriculum for special education students, based upon a variety of instructional techniques and technologies.

Perform other related duties as required.

SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES:

Supervises classroom, students, aides, and volunteers.
