The Food Bank of Central & Eastern NC seeks a Data Analyst with a passion to serve our mission to end hunger in our community. Our network of 700+ food pantries, community kitchens, and other partner agencies distributed over 100 million pounds of food last year to individuals who face food insecurity. 

 

As part of an evolving Data Analytics team, you will help us better understand and serve those in our 34-county service area with clear, accurate, actionable insights. We're looking for a data-savvy professional who can uncover the story behind numbers and tell that story to both technical and non-technical audiences to drive organizational excellence. RESPONSIBILITIES

 

Effective Data Practices 

  • Advise the Director of Data Analytics on best practices, data management and analytics, and data visualization. 
  • Identify and improve data governance and management protocols. 
  • Collaborate with other analysts, a data engineer, and various subject-matter experts and practitioners to solve real-world problems, share knowledge, and build data capabilities across the organization. 
  • Manage end-to-end analytical projects, from source data transformation through insight delivery and stakeholder presentation. 

 

Improvement through Analytics 

  • Work with management team and department leaders to tackle operational challenges and strategic questions using data, with a focus on actionable information and data-informed decision making. 
  • Create models to identify trends and track changes across time. 
  • Develop reports, dashboards, and other analytical solutions for sustainable inquiry and decision support. 
  • Partner with colleagues to build data literacy, share BI tools expertise, and democratize access to insights. 
  • Identify process improvement opportunities and explore potential solutions. 
  • Develop data and analytical presentations to key stakeholders. 

 

Qualifications 

  • Strong data management experience, demonstrating an understanding of concepts and practices such as data quality assurance, data lineage documentation, metadata management, data architecture, data integration, and data governance. 
  • Proficiency with Power BI for building interactive dashboards and reports that translate complex data into clear insights.  
  • Proficiency with SQL. 
  • Experience building data models and conducting statistical analysis to identify patterns, trends, and opportunities for impact. 
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications. 
  • Bonus points for experience with Microsoft Fabric and Jet Reports and familiarity with project management concepts and tools.  
  • Ability to communicate technical information to a non-technical audience. 
  •  Passion for mission-driven work and commitment to using data to advance food security and community impact.
