Position Overview
This position is responsible for providing high-level organization and administrative support to the Human Resources Department.
Essential Duties and Functions adhere to the Mission of the University:
- Serve as the first point of contact for the Human Resources Department; providing customer support, front office coverage, answering general questions and direct calls and/or visitors as appropriate for prompt assistance.
- Post positions for open internal and external vacancies.
- Manage the HR Talent Module for all new applicants and new hires.
- Manage the recruitment functions of the department and provide office support in the areas of onboarding, training, employee recognition, benefits open enrollment, and general office duties.
- Processing new hires in HRIS Information Systems and managing the I-9 process through E-Verify.
- Collaborates with hiring managers and HR business partners to understand hiring needs and position profile requirements.
- Develop and implement recruitment strategies in concert with HR personnel to support business strategies.
- Executes full life cycle recruiting activities for all positions in assigned areas.
- Attend meetings and events as required.
- Support HR compliance by enforcing recruitment policies, programs, and implementation approaches.
- Maintain positive business relationships with area leaders as well as HR personnel.
- Process federal and student work-study hire.
- Supports and participates in HR internal projects.
- Prepare and file personnel records for new hires, transfers, and other employment activities.
- Process employment verifications and background screening. Notify staff when cleared.
- Assist in the planning and execution of HR employee events and recognition.
- May require working some evenings and weekends. (as needed)
- Other duties and projects as assigned by the CHRO.
Education
Bachelor’s degree in business, human resources, or related fields is required.
Experience
2 years of recruitment experience in human resources, and/or administrative support in a business or education-related field, preferably in higher education. Experience with E-verify, ADP, or other payroll and HRIS systems preferred.
Supervision:
This role may be required to supervise work students or interns as directed.
Certifications, licenses, and registration
SHRM Certification preferred. Active participation in CUPA-HR is a plus.

- Considerable experience working with Microsoft Office, Access, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook.
Work environment:
The work environment described here is representative of working conditions an employee may encounter while performing the essential duties and functions.
The noise level in the work environments is usually moderate. There are repetitive movements (typing, assembly operations, etc) and prolonged sitting or standing in one position (without choice) in a closed environment. Concentrated visual, auditory, or other forms of sensory attention are expected.
