We are seeking an experienced and service-oriented Banquet Captain to lead, train, and support our banquet staff in delivering exceptional event experiences. This position is responsible for overseeing the setup, service, and breakdown of banquet functions in alignment with company policies, food handling standards, and brand expectations.
Key Responsibilities:
Assign banquet stations and oversee staff during events
Ensure proper room setup per Banquet Event Orders (BEOs)
Communicate effectively with kitchen staff for smooth service
Greet client contacts and manage guest satisfaction during events
Lead by example, perform banquet server duties as needed
Monitor cleanliness, safety, and policy compliance throughout the event
Train and mentor banquet staff; conduct pre- and post-event briefings
Complete accurate billing procedures and event documentation
Qualifications:
Preferred: 2+ years of banquet or hospitality experience
Strong leadership, communication, and organizational skills
Alcohol awareness certification preferred
Ability to manage time effectively in a fast-paced, physically demanding environment
Must be able to lift up to 50 lbs and stand for extended periods
Work Environment:
Work takes place in a hotel or banquet setting with exposure to kitchen and event-related conditions, including variable temperatures, odors, and noise.
