EHS - Debate Coach en Eastmont School District

Responsibilities:

Teach and facilitate students in an established debate program, facilitating the following skills:

• Building research competence
• Media literacy and reading comprehension
• Argument literacy and evidence evaluation
• Public speaking skills
• Conflict resolution and civil discussion skills
• Critical thinking

Attend debate tournaments throughout the course of the year.

Communicate with parents and the league, often on a weekly basis.

Fundraise as necessary to cover registration, transportation and other miscellaneous expenses,

Interact with colleagues from other local schools, as well as members of the community.

Work with other coaches in organizing league events and fulfilling league responsibilities, such as holding league office, hosting tournaments, or providing tournament assistance.
