Qualifications:  

1. Educational Level: Bachelor's Degree required

2. Certification/License Required:   Valid Georgia Teaching Certificate

3. Experience:   Prefer successful classroom and/or coaching experience

Performance Duties & Responsibilities:

• Teaches techniques and elements of play for sports programs.

• Teaches persistence, desire to win, teamwork, and cooperation.

• Enforces standards for discipline and sportsmanlike behavior at all times; establishes and oversees penalties for breach of standards.

• Abides by the TCSS and GHSA rules and regulations set forth for athletics.

• Supervises assistant coaches in sports programs.

• Ensures care, maintenance, and storage of athletic equipment.

• Ensures that student-athletes have written parental permission, insurance coverage, and physical examinations.

• Emphasizes student safety in all aspects of the sport.

• Supervises locker rooms before, during, and after practices and games.

• Ensures transportation arrangements to and from athletic events in accordance with TCSS procedures.

• Performs other duties as assigned by the Athletic Director and Principal.

Other Functions: 

Daily attendance and punctuality are required to ensure the goals of the work unit are met.

Working Environment:

Routine physical activities that are required to fulfill job responsibilities, required to sit, walking, and standing for extended lengths of time; able to bend at the trunk, squatting, stooping, kneeling, and reaching; able to lift and/or moving up to 25 pounds; must be able to see objects at a distance
