Description

This professional position serves as an advisor to the CEO as a member of the Senior Management team, mentors Managers and Supervisors on employee relations and workforce issues and is responsible for the Human Resources administrative functions of the organization.

QUALIFICATIONS

  • A Bachelors Degree in Human Resources (Industrial Relations) and/or Business required, specialized Masters Degree in HR or Law or MBA preferred, 10 years of directly related experience may be substituted
  • At least five (5) years of progressively responsible Human Resources experience required, preferred experience in a leadership position
  • Professional certification in HR (SHRM-CP, SHRM-SCP, SPHR, PHR) strongly preferred
  • High standards of honesty and ethics, as demonstrated by work history
  • Knowledge of business management practices
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Excellent interpersonal and conflict resolution skills
  • Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Strong supervisory and leadership skills
  • Thorough knowledge of employment-related laws and regulations
  • Knowledge of and experience with varied human resource information systems
  • Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite or related software
  • Must pass a criminal background investigation

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Ensures compliance with employment, benefits, insurance, safety, and other laws, regulations, and requirements
  • Ensure compliance with requirements as a federal contractor (OFCCP requirements)
  • Compile and submit all compliance related reports for ACA, EEO, VEVRAA, etc.
  • Maintains knowledge of laws, regulations, and best practices in employment law, human resources, and talent management by participating in HR professional organizations and reading news briefs, articles, and compliance releases
  • Researches, develops, and implements employee benefits, compensation, and incentive and retention programs
  • Work with benefits agent to renegotiate benefits plans annually
  • Provide professional input in the planning and implementation of new projects and lines of business
  • Mentor managers and first-line supervisors in employee relations matters to provide a consistent workplace culture and employee experience; arrange training for supervisors as needed
  • Oversee performance management practices and disciplinary actions; approve and handle all terminations
  • Manage and perform full life-cycle hiring, including recruitment and selection of entry-level to professional and management positions
  • Handle workers compensation policy, injury reporting, and claims
  • Administration of leaves of absence (FMLA, Personal Leave) and Unemployment claims
  • Update company policies as needed
  • Oversee safety program
  • Assists in the development of the annual budget
