Experience: 

Administrative experience in higher education commensurate with the position of dean.

Duties/Expectations: 

The dean will provide academic and executive leadership that promotes faith in Jesus Christ and testimony of His gospel and restored Church, as well as excellence in teaching, research, and mentorship to achieve student outcomes and help fulfill the university's mission.

The dean will develop strategies to enhance the college’s position of excellence throughout the world by developing initiatives that foster innovative and interdisciplinary research for the betterment of humankind, including in strategic communities worldwide. The dean will oversee innovations in academic programs with superb teaching that is enhanced through scholarship.

The dean will oversee faculty development, including the rank and status process, innovations in academic programs, and the operations and budgets of all departments, programs, and initiatives within the college, which comprise approximately 124 full-time faculty members and 72 staff/administrative employees.

The College of Engineering houses the following units: Chemical & Biological Engineering, Civil & Construction Engineering, Electrical & Computer Engineering, Manufacturing Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, and Technology & Engineering Studies.

The College of Engineering offers 12 undergraduate programs and 12 graduate programs that combine a technically excellent education with the leadership skills necessary to tackle tomorrow’s greatest engineering challenges. As an innovator in engineering education, the dean will foster the college’s goal of cultivating men and women of faith, character, and technical expertise who will become exceptional leaders worldwide. These students produce creative work of consequence, gaining valuable experiences and marketable competencies.
