Position Summary:
REACH is seeking a compassionate and organized Group Home Manager to oversee the daily operations, staff, and residents of an assisted living home. The Manager ensures a safe, supportive, and positive environment for residents while maintaining compliance with agency policies and state regulations. This position supervises Direct Service Professionals (DSPs), coordinates resident care, manages budgets, and may provide direct support, including assistance with personal care and hygiene.
Key Responsibilities:
- Hire, train, schedule, and supervise DSP staff to ensure quality care and adequate coverage.
- Oversee residents’ health, safety, and daily living needs.
- Maintain compliance with state licensing and agency standards.
- Manage home budgets, supplies, and documentation.
- Collaborate with residents’ guardians, healthcare providers, and interdisciplinary teams.
- Promote a positive, team-oriented workplace and uphold professional and ethical standards.
- Participate in program management, meetings, and professional development.
Qualifications:
- At least 21 years of age.
- High school diploma or equivalent required; bachelor’s degree in human services, education, psychology, or related field preferred.
- Minimum two years of documented relevant experience providing care or services to individuals with developmental disabilities.
- Supervisory experience preferred.
- Valid Alaska Driver’s License, clean driving record, and proof of auto insurance required.
- Must pass background check; CPR, First Aid, and TB clearance required within 30 days of hire.
Skills & Abilities:
- Strong leadership, communication, and organizational skills.
- Knowledge of Medicaid, ADA, and disability services best practices.
- Ability to manage crises and make sound decisions.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office and documentation systems.
Working Conditions:
Work is primarily performed in assisted living homes, with some office and travel time. Position may require occasional lifting and on-call coverage.
