Responsibilities
Responsible for maximizing the value for a product.
Defines the vision and roadmap for the product, defining and prioritizing stories in the product backlog, and articulating this to both stakeholders and the development team.
Works closely with stakeholders to understand their needs, and with the Product Manager in a scaled Agile model to ensure there is alignment.
Possess a working knowledge of the product, and basic understanding of the business or technology domain.
With some guidance, creates the vision and roadmap for the product to align with strategic direction for the business or technology domain.
Communicates the product vision and roadmap to stakeholders and the team.
Collaborates with stakeholders to understand their needs and problems.
Creates and prioritizes work for one team. Learning to collaborate with cross-functional teams.
Creates and pprioritizes stories in the product backlog.
Refines stories with the team to ensure there are enough ready stories to load the next 1-2 sprints.
Reviews and accepts stories and is empowered to make on-the-spot decisions on scope and requirements.
Works in partnership with the team to ensure that optimum value is obtained through technology and through an advanced understanding of the business. Individual contributor.
Legal Order Specific
Define business requirements at a minimum of one quarter ahead. This often requires a series of requirements gathering sessions with key SMEs. Based on requirements gathering, create epics and stories that meet DOR and are ready for the upcoming Program Increment. Present at LIFE Training planning sessions. Requires process design skills to be able to map current and target process, suggest efficiencies and automation solutions.
Product Owner for both the Initiative Team and Base Team.
Initiative Team –
Participate in all agile ceremonies including DSU, Planning meetings, Grooming meetings, ART Synch meetings.
Monitor reporting of bug fixes coming out of Release testing. Create bug fix Acceptance Criteria and accept bug fixes. Work with LOB to prioritize.
Provide overview and support to both the System and UAT testers as needed. Also, provide support for employe readiness.
Participate in PPV and Business Certification as needed.
Collaborate with Project Managers and SMEs from service provider systems as needed.
Base Team – Create functional stories for the base team as needed. Monitor base team activities for any end-user impact.
Intake Reviewer. Assess new Tech Intakes and determine whether can be bundled in a small enhancement group or separate project. Write enhancement stories as needed for future funding.
