Description
The Senior Loan Operations Officer relies on their experience and advanced level of knowledge of both loan servicing and loan documentation production to be self-sufficient. The incumbent is responsible for supporting the more complex operational duties within the department, specific to regulatory reporting, coordination, and oversight of Loan Operations audits, ensuring timely completion of subpoenas and loan pledging. The incumbent operates as the lead role distinguished by its greater degree of responsibility and complexity of assignments. This position requires the individual to work independently, has strong communication skills and the ability to troubleshoot and provide guidance to the Loan Operations Team and assists the VP-Loan Operations Manager with ongoing daily activities.
Ensures compliance within all Bank policies and procedures, as well as all applicable state and federal banking regulations.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities include the following:
- Provides lead support to current Loan Operations Specialists I-III, up to and including all new loans, renewals, and modifications using the Laser Pro software (Primarily commercial)
- Ensures accurate and timely completion of the SBA 1502, in addition to ongoing SBA 7a monitoring through the CAFS reporting system
- Manages all incoming communications from the SBA and Guide house
- Responsible for handling SBA 7a loan payoffs with Guide house
- Manages the ongoing Rocket Mortgage/Quicken processes and annual audit
- Responsible for working directly with Falconbridge, DMI & US Bank on Mortgage Pool purchases
- Ensures accurate and timely completion of the monthly Federal Reserve Bank and quarterly Federal Home Loan Bank pledging
- Performs research and ensures timely completion of Subpoena’s in coordination with Legal Counsel, Special Assets and Central Operations
- Responsible for the coordination and oversight of internal Loan Operations Audits, as well as State & Federal Exams, up to and including Compliance, Fair Lending, Federal Reserve Bank, Federal Home Loan Bank and Mortgage Pools
- Responsible for performing Flood Insurance Audits
- Directly supports Loan Operations Team, helping to troubleshoot and resolve complex customer level issues
- Other duties may be assigned
Supervisory Responsibilities: This job has no supervisory responsibilities.
Qualifications:
- Requires a minimum of 7 years banking experience in Loan Operations
- Requires a minimum of 2 years in loan documentation, preferably commercial loans and with Laser Pro experience
- Experience and knowledge of complex entity structures, as they relate to loan documentation
- Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal
- Excellent organizational and time management skills with proven ability to prioritize and manage workload
- Strong interpersonal skills; presents a positive and professional image
- Intermediate level proficiency with Microsoft Excel and other Microsoft Office applications
- Ability to multi-task in a fast-paced environment

The incumbent in the course of performing this position frequently spends time writing, typing, speaking, listening, operating basic business equipment, seeing (such as close, color and peripheral vision, depth perception and adjusted focus), sitting, walking, standing, reading documents or instruments, detailed work, problem solving, client contact, reasoning, math, language, presentations, verbal and written communication, analytical reasoning, stress, multiple concurrent tasks, and constant interruptions. The incumbent for this position will occasionally lift up to 15 pounds, pull, squat, kneel and reach. The incumbent is in a non-confined office-type setting in which he or she is free to move about at will. The work environment is typically quiet to a moderate noise level.
