Position Summary/ Department Summary:
The Division of Adolescent/Young Adult Medicine is seeking a Clinical Research Coordinator to work with faculty researcher Sabra L. Katz-Wise, PhD and the GenderWise Lab on her ongoing research in LGBTQ+ adolescent/young adult health. We are looking for someone who is passionate about LGBTQ+ health and has interest and experience in both qualitative and survey research. This position will primarily support a new NIH-funded study about stigma and health of bisexual adolescents/young adults.

Key Responsibilities
  • Coordinating recruitment and data collection for a new qualitative study with asynchronous online focus groups.
  • Facilitating asynchronous online focus groups, and coding and analyzing focus group transcripts.
  • Maintaining study data in accordance with data management and sharing protocols.
  • Ongoing facilitation of a community advisory board.
  • Conducting literature reviews.
  • Contributing to quantitative data analysis, as skills allow.
  • Contributing to writing research manuscripts and other reports of research findings.
  • Coordinating logistical aspects of other ongoing projects in the GenderWise Lab (e.g., managing IRB protocols, tracking expenses for grant budgets, dissemination of research findings).
  • Coordinating and scheduling meetings, submitting receipts for reimbursement, helping to complete required CV-related tracking forms, helping to prepare grant applications for submission.

Minimum Qualifications

Education:
  • A Bachelor's degree is required.
Experience:
  • Two years of experience working in Research as a Research Assistant or Research Coordinator is required.
  • Ability to maintain participant data confidentiality and adhere to study protocols.
  • Ability to take initiative, work without direct supervision, work on multiple projects with different teams, and meet deadlines.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills.
  • Willingness and ability to work as part of a team.
  • Experience and comfort using standard computer software (Microsoft Office, PowerPoint, Excel, etc.) .
  • Prior advocacy for and/or allyship with bisexual and other LGBTQ+ communities is preferred.
  • Prior experience with qualitative research is preferred.
  • Prior experience with IRB protocols is preferred.
  • Experience and comfort using analysis software (e.g., SPSS, Dedoose) and website management tools (e.g., Google Sites, Wordpress) is preferred.
