Boeing Commercial Airplanes (BCA) is currently seeking a Team Lead Fabrication Specialist (Level C) to join the Interiors Responsibility Center (IRC) Fabrication Team in North Charleston, South Carolina on a Variable Shift!

We are seeking a highly motivated individual with a passion who discovers new opportunities and solutions for problems by looking beyond current practices and using innovative thinking. Tries different and novel ways to deal with work problems and opportunities.

Primary Responsibilities:   

  • Team Lead is accountable for building an effective resource plan using required tools to meet current production needs. They are also accountable for communicating risks to plan to First Line Leader

  • Team Lead is accountable for updating all metrics on the BPS Management System Board daily.

  • This also includes identifying actions required to improve Key Performance Indicators and communicating updates on both the Visual Control and Continuous Improvement Boards to the team

  • Team Lead is accountable for giving out work assignments, based on plan of the day

  • Team Lead (or delegate) is accountable for leading the team through daily safety check in

  • Team Lead is accountable for monitoring progress to plan and working with support team and First Line Leader to mitigate performance risk. Team Lead is accountable for understanding overtime requirements and handing off to First Line Leader in accordance with required guidelines

  • Team Lead is accountable for documenting and sending the standard turnover to shift counterparts. When possible, Team lead is also accountable for conducting a face-to-face shift turnover with on-coming counterpart

  • Team Lead is accountable for ensuring teammate FOD/Tool/Safety/Housekeeping (5S) sweeps are completed

  • Team Lead is accountable to assign his/herself work based on labor loss and available resources.

  • Team Lead is accountable for working with team to establish overtime requirements and staffing.  Team Lead is accountable for communicating plan with First Line Leader

  • Team Lead is accountable for being present in his/her work area to support team as required. This includes but is not limited to: quality concerns, technical expertise, help needed requests, etc.

  • Team Lead is accountable for utilizing Rapid Problem Solving and coordinating with Line Side Control Center on addressing issues beyond their span of control

  • Team Lead is accountable for communicating with up/downstream customers (not including Airline Customers), utilizing face to face product walks if required

  • Team Lead is accountable for monitoring area for good housekeeping and FOD/Tool Control compliance. Good housekeeping is measured by 5S compliance and reinforced using Kamishibai, i.e. ensuring all items are kept in their home location when not in use. Team Lead is accountable for ensuring teammates complete sweep responsibilities as it relates to FOD/Tool Control/Safety/Housekeeping. Team Lead is accountable to ensure the area is safe

  • Team Lead is accountable for creating standardized work instructions, per the enterprise process as well as conducting audits and providing coaching to teammates on adherence to the documented standardized work

  • Team Lead is accountable for completing his/her weekly audit with demonstrated examples of either addressing non-compliant issues on the spot or elevating help needed appropriately

  • Team Lead is accountable for leading the weekly Gemba Walk. Team Lead is accountable for discussing current status of Key Performance Indicators. Team Lead is accountable for leading discussion around improvement activities. First Line Leader is accountable for providing help where needed to progress improvement actions. First Line Leader is accountable for providing coaching to Team Lead

  • Team Lead is accountable for building a weekend overtime plan that is aligned with current business needs (i.e. recovery plan). Team Lead is accountable for working with teammates to identify needed resources (voluntary or involuntary) to cover weekend overtime need. Team Lead is accountable for communicating plan and risks to First Line Leader

  • Exhibits Boeing Behaviors.

  • Must maintain all necessary certifications to perform the job

  

This position is expected to be 100% onsite.  The selected candidate will be required to work onsite at one of the listed location options.

Basic Qualifications (Required Skills/ Experience):

  • 3+ years of experience working with cross-functional teams 

  • 3+ years of problem-solving experience.

  • Experience with Enablon

  • 1+ year of experience in CMES access/ training or an equivalent system

  • Must be able to work variable shifts; including day, evening, night and weekends

Preferred Qualifications (Desired Skills/Experience):

  • 1+ years of experience in a leadership role

  • 1+ years of experience with systems to perform work (SOS, CMES, REDARS)

Summary pay range: $61,200 - $64,500
