Working in conjunction with project staff, the Maintenance Systems Specialist coordinates and assists with the implementation of programs and projects.


ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following:

• Plans, develops, implements, and evaluates programs and projects to meet established cost parameters and timelines

• Coordinates project activities

• Collaborates with project team members

• Develops measurable project goals and objectives

• Monitors and reports progress towards achievement

• Actively participates in project work groups and committees and provides recommendations to achieve goals

• Installs and assists with oversight of installation or maintenance of equipment on the production floor

• Trouble shoots mechanical issues as needed

• Coordinates and facilitates meetings as necessary and contributes to planning, decision making, and action items resulting from those meetings

• Coordinates project resources and partners with project stakeholders to collect and disseminate project information

• Communicates project updates to necessary stakeholders using informative, well organized presentation

• Ensures successful understanding and handoff to owners.

• Develops project budgets and prepares contracts to support identified projects

• Manages budgets for small projects or components of large programs under the general direction of the program manager.

• Analyzes and recommends equipment modifications to improve the production process.

• Other duties as assigned.

Regular and predictable attendance is an essential function of this position.


SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES 

This position has no direct supervisory responsibilities. The Maintenance Systems Improvement Specialist may be assigned to direct department employees during projects on a temporary basis.


QUALIFICATIONS

• Bachelor’s Degree or Associate’s Degree in related field preferred; Ten years applicable work/industry experience.

• Certificate from college or technical school preferred in the following areas: industrial fabrication, machining, and electrical troubleshooting.

• Communicates effectively in both oral and written forms to a variety of stakeholders

• Possesses above average mechanical abilities

• Ability to design, measure, analyze, implement and control mechanical process improvements

• Possesses working knowledge of basic revenue models, profit-and-loss (P&L) and cost-to-completion projections

• Ability to troubleshoot mechanical issues and adjust them quickly

• Ability to repair downed equipment in a fast-paced, time critical environment

• Ability to read machine diagrams, electrical drawings, and parts breakdowns

• Ability to dissect and provide clear communication of technical information to a variety of stakeholders

• Use of hand and machine tools

• Able to work effectively in the following environment; cold, hot, wet, high areas
