We are seeking a Patient Care Assistant, sometimes referred to as a Nurse Aide Our Patient Care Assistant (Telemetry PCA) will work in our hospital’s med/surg unit, providing general patient care.
Shifts Available: Days
Employment Type: Full Time
Hours: 12-hour shifts – 7:30am to 7:30pm

Essential Duties and Responsibilities (includes, but not limited to):
- Support patients with daily living activities, deliver basic nursing care, and help maintain a safe environment while working under the direction and supervision of the Registered Nurse overseeing the team or unit
- Carry out general PCA responsibilities such as recording vital signs, assisting with bathing, feeding, toileting, repositioning, collecting specimens, and transporting patients while maintaining monitoring connections
- Monitor telemetry equipment, observe rhythm strips, recognize alarms, and alert nurses to changes such as arrhythmias or abnormal heart rates
- Assist with lead and wire care, replace or secure connections, ensure monitors stay accurate and troubleshoot any issues that may interrupt monitoring
- Document patient activities and vital information in charts, report abnormal findings quickly, and offer emotional reassurance to reduce anxiety in patients being monitored for heart conditions

- Current Certified Nursing Assistant certificate required.
- Current BLS (AHA)
- Possesses knowledge of Medical Terminology.
- Minimum six months previous experience in an acute care hospital preferred.
