Position Summary
The Director of Event Sales and Marketing is responsible for driving revenue growth and enhancing the overall member and guest experience by strategically overseeing event sales, marketing initiatives, and the planning and execution of weddings, banquets, conferences, tournaments, and group outings. This role provides vision and leadership for the events and marketing team, cultivates strong community and client partnerships, and ensures all events reflect the Club’s high standards. The Director will collaborate across departments to deliver exceptional five-star experiences while developing strategies that position the facility as a premier destination.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
- Provide leadership and strategic direction for all special events, weddings, banquets, conferences, tournaments, and group outings.
 - Develop and implement sales and marketing strategies to maximize revenue opportunities across all event types and facility amenities.
 - Build and maintain relationships with media, hotels, convention bureaus, civic organizations, golf associations, and other community partners to drive event business and brand visibility.
 - Oversee the development, maintenance, and execution of the events calendar, ensuring all departments are aligned for seamless guest experiences.
 - Direct and support the events and marketing team in organizing and executing all event details, ensuring excellence in communication, service, and coordination.
 - Oversee creation of marketing materials, promotional campaigns, and group outing packages to attract and retain clients.
 - Serve as a primary point of contact for VIP clients and key stakeholders; represent the Club professionally through tours, orientations, and networking engagements.
 - Review guest satisfaction data, analyze trends, and implement strategies for continuous improvement in service delivery and event execution.
 - Provide coaching, mentorship, and professional development opportunities for the events and marketing team.
 - Collaborate with food & beverage, golf operations, and hospitality leaders to maximize cross-departmental revenue opportunities.
 - Handle escalated customer concerns with professionalism and ensure timely resolution.

Education/Qualifications/Certifications
- 3 years outside sales and marketing experience, preferably in the golf or hospitality industry.
 - Experience leading a small sales team.
 - Proven ability to drive revenue growth through strategic planning, business development, and client relationship management.
 - Bachelor’s degree in Hospitality, Business, Marketing, or related field preferred.
 - Strong leadership, communication, and presentation skills.
 - Dedication to exceptional customer service and member/guest satisfaction.
 - Ability to analyze data, solve problems, and oversee multiple priorities under pressure.
 - Professional demeanor, positive attitude, and polished appearance.
 
Position Physical Requirements
Must have the ability to:
- Communicate clearly and professionally in both verbal and written form.
 - Effectively use computers, presentation tools, and other office technology.
 - Visually review contracts, proposals, reports, and event layouts.
 - Occasionally move event-related materials or supplies (typically under 25 lbs).
 - Walk and stand during on-site event execution and inspections.
 - Balance time between office-based administrative work and event oversight.

Working Conditions
- Primarily office-based with regular on-site presence during events.
 - Work hours may include evenings, weekends, and holidays to support key events.
 - Requires interaction with both indoor and outdoor environments depending on event location.
 - May occasionally be exposed to inclement weather during outdoor events or golf-related activities.
 - Position requires flexibility to adapt to a dynamic schedule and high-energy hospitality environment.

- Standard office equipment including computers, printers, telephones, and related technology.
 - Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook) or Google Workspace.
 - Event management software, CRM systems, and marketing tools/platforms.
 - Audio/visual equipment for presentations, meetings, and events.
 - Occasional use of golf carts and other facility-related equipment during event oversight.
