POSITION TITLE: Secondary Mathematics Teacher
QUALIFICATIONS: Valid Missouri teacher certification in Mathematics. Such alternatives to the above qualifications as the Board may find appropriate and acceptable.
REPORTS TO: Building or District Administrator
TERMS OF EMPLOYMENT: 182 teacher contract days; 174 student contact days, with benefits according to Board policy.
JOB GOAL: To assist students in learning the appropriate subject matter, skills, and/or attitudes that will contribute to their development as responsible citizens.
The West Platte School District, located in Weston, Missouri, is seeking a dynamic leader to serve as Secondary Mathematics Teacher for the 2026-27 school year and beyond. Courses to be taught: Pre-Algebra, Geometry, Algebra 2A, and Algebra 2B.
The successful candidate will: choose and implement appropriate methodology; apply varied instructional strategies that address the diversity of the learners; provide continuous feedback to students and families; communicate appropriately with students, parents, community and staff; use various ongoing assessments to monitor the effectiveness of instruction; align the assessments with the goals, objectives and instructional strategies of the district, implement Missouri Learning Standards, and effectively utilize instructional technology. Proper certification or proof of eligibility for certification is required. Additional assignments/coaching may be available.

West Platte 2025-26 base compensation is $46,500. The District provides 100% Board paid Health Insurance, 50% Board paid dental, 50% Board paid vision, and Board paid life insurance.
