The Technical Program Manager position is responsible for developing technical project plans performed by a multi-disciplinary engineering team to meet project goals set by DoD customers and corporate leadership. The projects will involve development and transition of innovative missile technology applications to include hypersonics, ground and laboratory testing, missile defense, and tactical high speed missile systems. Specifically, this position will span knowledge areas of thermal protection systems, composite and advanced materials, aerothermal and thermo-structural response, manufacturing, and hardware integration. This position requires good communication skills with both internal team members and external partners.

 

In addition to the program management skills, this position will lead the technical test planning process, hardware preparation, and on-site execution of test and integration activities at various test facilities. The complexity of the test events will vary from sub-component hardware qualification testing to integration of full-scale hardware components for system testing. Travel will be required to fully perform technical responsibilities but is anticipated to be <10%.

 

Primary Responsibilities

  • Serve as a liaison between engineering and leadership teams, translating project goals into technical solutions and providing regular updates on project status
  • Develop and maintain detailed schedules of multi-year projects
  • Identify, analyze, and create risk mitigation plans.
  • Coordinate with vendors and test facilities on performance and schedule requirements
  • Develop test plans and lead on-site execution of test and integration activities
  • Prepare technical and programmatic briefings for stakeholder meetings
  • Prepare test reports and documentation

 

Requirements & Desired Skills

  • Active Secret security clearance or the ability to receive and maintain clearance
  • BS in Mechanical or Aerospace Engineering (MS desired)
  • 5-15 years of general experience in high-speed missile technology (thermal/ structural analysis, composite manufacturing, missile integration experience preferred)
  • Ability to organize tasks and track progress for multiple efforts simultaneously to meet overall milestones and objectives
  • Analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Ability to effectively transition between office and laboratory environments
