Job Description
Responsibilities:
- Lead process engineering initiatives to improve throughput, reduce waste, and enhance product consistency in tubular seamless steel production.
- Evaluate and implement new manufacturing technologies, automation systems, and digital tools to modernize operations and develop their resources in the new digitalization, robotics, automation era (examples: implementation of pipe to pipe traceability, Level 3 process control related automation, tooling tracking to pipe to pipe, robotics cells to reduce production cost, big data analysis).
- Oversee budgets and resources for innovation projects.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams (production, maintenance, quality, engineering) to identify bottlenecks and deploy lean manufacturing solutions.
- Drive culture change to instill focus on fact-based management practices via the use of Lean Six Sigma and other problem-solving methodologies.
- Foster team culture and collaboration in executing interdepartmental Failure Analysis (for example, between Hot Mill and Q&T/Finishing Floors).
- Develop and maintain process documentation, SOPs, and training materials for operators and technicians.
- Analyze production data and KPIs to drive data-informed decisions and root cause analysis.
- Manage capital projects related to process upgrades/improvement initiatives, equipment installation, and plant layout optimization.
- Actively collaborate with Engineering department and participate in capital projects related discussions / workshops to design best in class new lines in terms of lean manufacturing and production efficiency
- Ensure compliance with safety, environmental, and quality standards.
Requirements:
- Bachelor’s degree in engineering or a closely related technical field required.
- At least ten years of relevant manufacturing industry experience.
- Proven track record in lean manufacturing, Six Sigma, or continuous improvement methodologies.
- Experience with automation systems, PLCs, and manufacturing software tools.
- Proven project management skills, including the ability to lead and influence high-performing teams.
- Exceptional leadership, communication and project management skills
- Outstanding problem solving and analytical skills
Preferred skills:
- Familiarity with Industry 4.0 technologies and digital transformation in manufacturing.
- Experience with ERP systems (e.g., SAP, Oracle) and data analytics platforms.
- Certification in Six Sigma, PMP, or Lean Manufacturing is a plus
