I. POSITION SUMMARY

The Institutional Giving Manager implements a comprehensive institutional fundraising plan that aligns with Women’s Advocates’ strategic plan. This position is responsible for all aspects of Women’s Advocates’ government and institutional giving fundraising, including identifying, writing, and submitting grant proposals to institutional and government partners, managing relationship with contract grant writers, maintaining a shareable grants calendar in collaboration with the Development Coordinator and ensuring that grant reports are being submitted. To help ensure timely and accurate data reporting to funders, this position confirms with the Circle Coordinator and Data & Evaluation Specialist that data processing and input are staying up to date.


This position is full-time, hybrid, with some time each week required on-site at our office in Saint Paul, MN.

The pay range is budgeted at $71,000 - $74,000 annually, and benefits are available.

II. DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

Grant writing and Development (85%)

1. Prepares and submits proposals and reports in accordance with RFPs and requirements of public and private funding sources.

2. Develops narrative proposals based on information from program staff, information from previous proposals, input from the Survivor Advisory Council, and data from publications and research.

3. Communicates with the Development and Communications team, the Director of Finance, and the Executive Director about new grant opportunities, grant renewals, and status of existing grant proposals.

4. Collaborates with Programs staff to complete progress reports and work plan updates or changes.

5. Maintains a list of current funding sources and contact information of grant administrators and keeps in regular contact.

6. Schedules site visits and prepares meeting materials and talking points.

7. Attends monthly meetings for development, finance & programming, and others as assigned.

8. Manages writing, design, and publication of annual report each year in collaboration with the Marketing & Communications Manager.

9. Responsible for prospecting – researching and recommending new funding sources for consideration.

10. Prepares and presents RFP overviews to pertinent staff for analysis and troubleshooting for application consideration and preparation.

11. Other duties as assigned.


ClientTrack Database Administration (15%)

1. Oversees correct extraction and analysis of data from databases for reporting, applying contextual knowledge and research to ensure correct interpretation of program outcomes.

2. Makes meaning from quantitative and qualitative data through writing and data visualization, providing a clear picture of program outcomes for Women’s Advocates’ staff, board, and funders.


Requirements

 

III. KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES

1. 3-5 years of experience in grant writing in the field of domestic violence, sexual violence and Housing.

2. Substantial experience working with state and federal grant portals.

3. Experience analyzing data from program databases.

4. Associate or Bachelor’s degree in gender studies, human services, English, social work, communications, education, technical writing, public health, or a related field is preferred, but not required.

5. Familiarity with domestic violence and the cycle of abuse.

6. Deep understanding of Women’s Advocates’ mission, vision, and program offerings.

7. Strong interpersonal, communication, critical thinking, organizational, writing, and technology skills.

8. Experience working in a community-based, diverse organization.

9. Ability to adjust quickly to changing needs and priorities.

10. Ability to handle multiple assignments, establish priorities, and be self-directed.

11. Available for occasional weekend and evening events.

12. Ability to work effectively across differences.

13. Demonstrated experience with and/or commitment to intercultural development and anti- racism work in the workplace

14. Commitment to actively contributing to the organization being a safe space for members of the LGBTQ+ community

15. If driving for WA, a valid driver’s license is required.

16. Criminal background check is required for this position.
