Job Description

Antares Capital is seeking a Vice President-level Senior Software Engineer to join our Data & Analytics Technology Team. In this strategic and hands-on role, you will lead the design and development of Antares’s proprietary data and analytics platform, with a focus on data management, reporting, and analytics. Leveraging your expertise in JavaScript (React) and event-driven architecture, you will architect scalable solutions, drive system enhancements, and collaborate cross-functionally to align technology with the firm’s business goals. . In this strategic and hands-on role, you will lead the design and development of Antares’s proprietary data and analytics platform, with a strong emphasis on AI and Large Language Model (LLM)-based technologies. You will spearhead the evolution of our centralized Portal (Odyssey), transforming it into the primary access point for data, reports, and analytics across the organization. This role requires a strong technical background, proven leadership in delivering complex applications, and a passion for building innovative, data-driven systems within a fast-paced, collaborative environment.

Responsibilities

  • Lead the end-to-end design, development, and deployment of Odyssey, the proprietary software platform at Antares.
  • Oversee and mentor a team of developers, ensuring high-quality coding standards, timely delivery, and continuous improvement.
  • Collaborate with stakeholders to define and deliver technology solutions that support and drive the firm’s business strategy.
  • Architect and evolve the centralized Portal to serve as the single source of truth for data access, reporting, and analytics.
  • Integrate AI/ML and LLM-based technologies to enhance data insights, automate workflows, and improve user experience.
  • Ensure system reliability, scalability, and performance across all Antares-built applications.
  • Architect and implement event streaming applications using Apache Kafka or similar technologies.
  • Leverage strong data and analytics capabilities to build insights-driven applications.
  • Champion the adoption of AI/ML technologies, positioning Antares at the forefront of innovation.
  • Promote DevOps best practices, including CI/CD automation, infrastructure as code, and containerization using Docker and Kubernetes.
  • Drive the implementation of robust security protocols and compliance standards.

Qualifications

  • 5+ years of experience in a technology-focused role within financial services
  • Proficient in JavaScript, with hands-on experience in React for modern front-end development
  • Solid understanding of event-driven development, with experience implementing back-end services using Python, React, and Kafka event streams
  • Strong experience with SQL Server and equivalent relational database technologies
  • Strong foundation in data analytics, system design, and performance optimization
  • Exposure to—or a strong interest in—developing expertise with AI/ML frameworks and platforms
  • Solid DevOps experience, including building and maintaining automated CI/CD pipelines
  • Practical knowledge of test-driven development (TDD) principles and practices
  • Bachelor's degree in Information Systems or technology related field

The Fine Print

  • Must have unrestricted authorization to work in the United States.

A reasonable estimate of the current base salary range at the time of posting is below. Base salary does not include other forms of compensation or benefits. Actual base salary within the specified range is comprised of several components, including but not limited to applicant's skill, prior relevant experience, specific degrees and certifications, job responsibilities, market considerations and the location of the position.

This role is eligible for a discretionary annual bonus (based on company, business unit and individual performance).

Salary Range

New York: $160,000 - $205,000

Chicago: $150,000 - $180,000
