The University of Tennessee Health Science Center is seeking a full-time non-tenure track clinician-educator faculty position (Assistant Professor rank). Academic rank at the time of appointment shall be commensurate with experience and credentials. The primary role will be as a Psychologist with the UT Health Science Center, Center of Excellence for Children in State Custody (COE). The successful applicant will have clinical, educational, research and community service duties within this role that are defined through agreement with the Chair of Psychiatry in collaboration with the COE Director.

Responsibilities

CLINICAL CARE (70% EFFORT) 

Direct service provision including consultation with the Department of Children's Services and community providers, psychological evaluation of children involved in the child welfare system (e.g., assessment of cognitive, adaptive, academic, and social-emotional functioning) and training of community providers and agencies in topics related to trauma and its impact on children within the COE. Provision of evidence-based practices such as Parent-Child Interaction Therapy (PCIT) and Trauma-Focused Cognitive-Behavioral Therapy (TF-CBT) is an option if desired.

EDUCATION AND TRAINING (20% EFFORT)

Training and supervision of psychology doctoral interns and post-doctoral fellows. The Department supports your efforts in curriculum and program development in a variety of settings that are associated with the Department. 

SERVICE (5% EFFORT)

The Department is supportive of your community leadership and advocacy roles.

RESEARCH AND ACADEMICS (5% EFFORT)

The Department is supportive of your contributions to scholarly activity, including research. Other academic obligations include participation in department teaching conferences and serving on university and other committees as directed by the Chair of Psychiatry.

Qualifications

EDUCATION: Ph.D. or PsyD. 

EXPERIENCE: Experience in trauma-informed care is required, with additional experience with children involved in the child welfare system preferred. Experience and skill in psychological assessment and consultation required.

LICENSES: Licensed or license-eligible in Tennessee as a Psychologist, Health Service Provider.
