Emergency Services provides acute care for both adults and children. The Juravinski Site provides care to a diverse population with a focus on elder friendly care and regional oncology


As a member of the health care team, this role supports patient care through equipment and supply management, maintenance of a clean, safe environment and participation in selected patient care activities. The HCA provides unit support to patients, families and those providing service and/or care. Functions according to the job description for Technical Health Care Aides and Clinical Health Care Aides

  • Successful completion of a HCA/PSW recognized program.
  • Successful completion of a CSAO course will be given preference.
  • Current BCLS
  • Experience maintaining and stocking materials and supplies including quotas and purchasing.
  • Recent Emergency Department experience as a HCA-Technical (within 2 years) Required
  • Computer familiarity or willingness to learn computer skills as required
  • Understanding and knowledge to apply WHMIS and Legislative requirements
  • Demonstrated effective communication (verbal and written), interpersonal, collaboration and teamwork skills
  • Demonstrated initiative and judgment appropriate for the position
  • Ability to accept assigned or delegated functions, set priorities and organize work accordingly
  • Physical capabilities including but not limited to the ability to lift, push, pull and bend as needed using appropriate body mechanics.
  • Commitment to attending work daily as scheduled
