As a Machine Shop Intern, you will work closely with experienced machinists, engineers, and technicians to support the daily operations of our machine shop. You will gain valuable insight into the manufacturing process of high-precision aerospace components and contribute to the production of parts for aerospace applications. This internship offers a unique opportunity to develop practical skills in machining, CNC operation, and aerospace manufacturing. .
This is a full-time paid internship that will last around 6 months

Responsibilities:
Support the operation of various machining equipment, including waterjets, laser cutters, CNC machines, lathes, mills, and grinders, under the guidance of experienced team members.
Learn to read and interpret technical drawings, blueprints, and CAD models to assist in the setup and production of aerospace parts.
Aid in the in-process inspection and measurement of parts using precision hand tools such as calipers, micrometers, and various gauges ensuring parts meet aerospace industry standards and tolerances.
Help with the setup and basic maintenance of machines, including cleaning and tool changes.
Adhere to all safety protocols and standards while operating machinery and handling materials.
Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including engineering and production, to ensure the timely and accurate completion of tasks.
Assist in documenting production processes, measurements, and quality control checks as required.
Minimum Requirements:
Basic knowledge of machining processes and equipment (CNC, lathe, mill, etc.).
Strong attention to detail and the ability to interpret technical drawings and specifications.
Proficiency in basic math and measurement tools (calipers, micrometers, etc.).
Strong communication skills and ability to work in a team-oriented environment.
Strong interest in aerospace manufacturing and technology.
Eagerness to learn and take on new challenges in a fast-paced, innovative setting.
Problem-solving skills and initiative to contribute to process improvements.
Ability to work in a hands-on, physically demanding environment.
A proactive, can-do attitude; must demonstrate flexibility, adaptability, and the ability to approach challenges with a positive mindset.
Preferred Qualifications:
Familiarity with CAD/CAM software
Familiarity with Manufacturing Execution Systems or experience executing to work instructions
Familiarity with Haas/Okuma/Doosan/Trumpf controls
Experience creating and manipulating flat pattern programs
Hands-on Experience: Gain direct exposure to aerospace manufacturing processes in a growing startup.
